My heart is like wax;

It is melted in the midst of my bowels.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd;
And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws;

And thou hast brought me into the dust of
death.

For dogs have compassed me:

The assembly of evil-doers have inclosed me;
'They pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones;

They look and stare upon me:
They part my garments among them,
And

upon my vesture do they cast lots.
But be not thou far off, O LORD:

O thou my succour, haste thee to help me.
Deliver my soul from the sword;

My darling from the power of the dog.
Save me from the lion's mouth;

Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast
answered me.

I will declare thy name unto my brethren :
In the midst of the congregation will I praise

thee.

Ye that fear the LORD, praise him;

All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him;

And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of
Israel.

Of thee cometh my praise in the great con- 25

The meek shall eat and be satisfied:

They shall praise the LORD that seek after

A Psalm of David.

The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; 1
The world, and they that dwell therein.
For he hath founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the floods.

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?
And who shall stand in his holy place?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,
And hath not sworn deceitfully.

He shall receive a blessing from the LORD,
And righteousness from the God of his salva-
tion.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD;

Teach me thy paths.

5 Guide me in thy truth, and teach me ; For thou art the God of my salvation; On thee do I wait all the day.

6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses;

For they have been ever of old.

7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions:

According to thy lovingkindness remember thou

me,

For thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

8 Good and upright is the LORD:

Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way. 9 The meek will he guide in judgement:

And the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the LORD are lovingkindness and truth

Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

I hate the congregation of evil-doers,

And will not sit with the wicked.

I will wash mine hands in innocency;
So will I compass thine altar, O LORD:
