LibraryThing Review

Ԩóҡ  - justagirlwithabook - LibraryThing

This book was given to me by a dear friend after reading The End of Your Life Book Club. This is a book that is constantly referred to by the author's mother and it helped her to meet the challenges of life with cancer as she battled in the later years of her life. ҹԴ繩Ѻ

wonderful devotional nook

Ԩóҡ  - APMc - Christianbook.com

My mom gave this little book to me years ago. I still use it as my daily devotional reading. I purchased 3 copies as gifts for my family. The updated version is good for todays generatiom tho I prefer the original. Wish it was offered in hardback. ҹԴ繩Ѻ

˹ 359 - Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light...
˹ 88 - Surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
˹ 62 - But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them. In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery. And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace.
˹ 126 - Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number : he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power ; not one faileth.
˹ 221 - They are slaves who fear to speak For the fallen and the weak; They are slaves who will not choose Hatred, scoffing, and abuse, Rather than in silence shrink From the truth they needs must think; They are slaves who dare not be In the right with two or three.
˹ 306 - One family we dwell in Him, One Church above, beneath, Though now divided by the stream, The narrow stream, of death : One army of the living God, To His command we bow ; Part of His host have crossed the flood, And part are crossing now.
˹ 19 - Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
˹ 286 - There are in this loud stunning tide Of human care and crime, ;'-. With whom the melodies abide Of th' everlasting chime ; Who carry music in their heart Through dusky lane and wrangling mart, Plying their daily task with busier feet, Because their secret souls a holy strain repeat.
˹ 275 - The Situation that has not its Duty, its Ideal, was never yet occupied by man. Yes here, in this poor, miserable, hampered, despicable Actual, wherein thou even now standest, here or nowhere is thy Ideal; work it out therefrom; and working, believe, live, be free.
˹ 297 - Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
