The Subcommittee on Parks and Recreation of the Senate Interior Committee is convened today to receive testimony on several bills to study for inclusion or, to include immediately within the National Trails System, certain established trails. [The text of S. 2112, S. 2486, S. 2783, S. 3273, S. 3287, S. 3528 and House Concurrent Resolution 225 along with the departmental reports follow:] (1) 94TH CONGRESS 1ST SESSION S. 2112 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES JULY 15 (legislative day, JULY 10), 1975 Mr. CHILES introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs A BILL To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a study with respect to the feasibility of establishing the Bartram Trail as a national scenic trail. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That subsection (c) of section 5 of the National Trails Sys4 tem Act is amended by adding at the end thereof the 5 following: 6 “(15) Bartram Trail, which extends from Mobile, Ala7 bama, through the area of Montgomery, Alabama, to the 8 Alabama and Georgia State border about due east of Mont9 gomery, Alabama; continues through Georgia to the area of 10 Savannah, Georgia, thence south to the Georgia and Florida |
