˹ 49 - And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve ; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell : but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
˹ 245 - Not to commit any sin, to do good, and to purify one's mind, that is the teaching of (all) the Awakened.
˹ 114 - When one cultivates to the utmost the principles of his nature, and exercises them on the principle of reciprocity, he is not far from the path. What you do not like, when done to yourself, do not do to others.
˹ 77 - Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
˹ 49 - And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood, in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor; and they served other gods.
˹ 112 - THAT WE ARE is the result of what we have thought: it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts.
˹ 231 - Do not speak harshly to anybody; those who are spoken to will answer thee in the same way. Angry speech is painful, blows for blows will touch thee.
˹ 143 - Brahmana has reached the other shore in both laws, in restraint and contemplation, all bonds vanish from him who has obtained knowledge.
˹ 49 - AND Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers ; and they presented themselves before God.
˹ 185 - ... eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man to conceive, the things which God has prepared for them that love him; nor yet, I may add, the wrath which he has prepared for those who do not love him.
