The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Clear Thou me from hidden faults. Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be perfect, And I shall be clear from great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my rock, and my redeemer. XVI. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me: Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. XVII. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust. For He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His pinions, And under His wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked. For thou, O LORD, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent. They shall bear thee up in their hands, Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him. I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will deliver him, and honor him. XVIII. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies: Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; Neither will He keep His anger forever. Nor rewarded us after our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, As far as the east is from the west, So far hath He removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, So the LORD pitieth them that fear Him. He remembereth that we are dust. As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. To such as keep His covenant, And to those that remember His precepts to do them. The LORD hath established His throne in the heavens: And His kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the LORD, ye angels of His: Ye mighty in strength, that fulfil His word, Hearkening unto the voice of His word. |
