The subcommittee will come to order. Mr. NICKELS. Mr. Chairman, I would like to have the witnesses sworn and put under the rule. The CHAIRMAN. Do you want them separated? Mr. NICKELS. I do not care to have them separated. The CHAIRMAN. Do counsel on the other side want them separated? Mr. ZUMBRUNN. I do not care. The CHAIRMAN. There is no object in swearing them all together that you have in mind, is there? Mr. NICKELS. Except that gentlemen on the other side invoked the rule, and there are certain witnesses here Mr. McLEAN. He wants the witnesses to retire. The CHAIRMAN. Very well. The Chairman thereupon administered the oath to Mr. J. Q. Jett and Mr. N. N. Furney. Mr. NICKELS. Mr. McQuinn, you have already been sworn? Mr. NICKELS. I would like to have Mr. Furney retire.
