der Forschungen und der Mitarbeit von De la Ville de Mirmont1). Für Lukrez hätte man ein etwas späteres Erscheinen, zu einer Zeit, wo Diels" nachgelassenes Werk hätte benutzt werden können, gewünscht.

Photographische Aufnahmen vom Monumentum Ancyranum. Von M. Schede.

Während der im Auftrag des Instituts von Krencker, Heck und mir vorgenommenen Bearbeitung des Tempels in Angora (August v. J.) habe ich die freiliegenden Teile der großen Inschrift im Format 24/30 durchphotographiert, und zwar den lateinischen Text ganz, rom griechischen Text Kol. 1—8, 18 rechte Hälfte und 19; die fehlenden Teile sind noch verbaut. Im ganzen sind es 5 Gesamtansichten und 38 Einzelaufnahmen. Die durchweg mit Gelbscheibe verwendeten Chromo-Isolar-Platten waren ein Geschenk der Agfa. Für den lateinischen Text war die Aufstellung eines Gerüstes erforderlich, das die Firma Holzmann & Co. freundlichst zur Verfügung stellte. Jedoch war die Bewegungsfreiheit auf diesem Gerüst nicht so groß, daß die Kolumneneinteilung, wie sie auf den Phototypien nach den Humann'schen Abgüssen bei Mommsen Res gestae beibehalten ist, hätte berücksichtigt werden können; aus dem gleichen Grunde sind auch die Maßstäbe verschieden ausgefallen. Ein Vorzug meiner Aufnahmen dürfte darin bestehen, daß sie bei der jeweils günstigsten Sonnenbeleuchtung gemacht sind, wodurch sich gerade von den zerstörten Stellen meist ein von der Mommsen'schen Wiedergabe zum mindesten verschiedenes Bild ergibt und neue Lesungen ermöglicht werden. Aber auch wenn für den Text gar nichts dabei herauskommen sollte, so scheint es mir doch der nicht unerheblichen Mühe wert gewesen zu sein, im Zusammenhang mit unserer umfassenden Neubearbeitung des Tempels der wissenschaftlichen Welt eine anschauliche Vorstellung von der Königin der Inschriften zu vermitteln, deren Züge in Gips zu betrachten man sich bislang bescheiden mußte.

Ich bin bereit, ab 1. 4. 27 bis auf weiteres auf Bestellung Abzüge anfertigen zu lassen, deren Preis etwa je 1,50 RM. betragen wird.
