He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly

They delight in lies:

They bless with their mouth, but they curse

He is my high tower; I shall not be moved.
With God is my salvation and my glory:

7

He only is my rock and my salvation:

3 Heb. a breath.

The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in
God.

Trust in him at all times, ye people;

Pour out your heart before him:

God is a refuge for us.

Surely men of low degree are 'vanity, and men 9

of high degree are a lie:

In the balances they will go up;

They are together lighter than 'vanity.

Trust not in oppression,

And become not vain in robbery:

If riches increase, set not your heart thereon.

Twice have I heard this;

That power belongeth unto God:

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness

of Judah.

Or, earnestly O God, thou art my God; 'early will I seek thee: 1 My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for

thee,

64

In a dry and weary land, where no water is. 2 So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, To see thy power and thy glory.

3 For thy lovingkindness is better than life; My lips shall praise thee.

4 So will I bless thee while I live:

I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with 'marrow and Heb. fat. fatness;

And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful

lips;

6 When I remember thee upon my bed,

And meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 For thou hast been my help,

And in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 8 My soul followeth hard after thee:

Thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it,

into the lower parts of the earth.

Every one that sweareth by him shall glory;
For the mouth of them that speak lies shall be
stopped.

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
I Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint:
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers;
From the tumult of the workers of iniquity:
3 Who have whet their tongue like a sword,

And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words: 4 That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect:

Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. 5 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose;

And the inward thought of every one, and the
heart, is deep.

But God shall shoot at them;

7

With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.
2So they shall be made to stumble, their own 8
tongue being against them:

All that see them shall 'wag the head.
And all men shall fear;

Or, flee away And they shall declare the work of God,
And shall wisely consider of his doing.

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and 10 shall trust in him ;

And all the upright in heart shall glory.

David,

'Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion :
And unto thee shall the vow be performed.
O thou that hearest prayer,

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and 4 causest to approach unto thee,

That he may dwell in thy courts:

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy

The holy place of thy temple.

And the hills are girded with joy.

The valleys also are covered over with corn;

For the Chief Musician. A Song, a Psalm. 1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth: 2 Sing forth the glory of his name:

Make his praise glorious.
